Norwegian custom floor refinishing company needs logo! Din Gulvsliper (Your Floor Sander)
Add your question or comments below
Hi everybody,
In case you haven't read my updated brief, I now realize that I want a logo that looks like a floor being refinished. There are a couple good options already, but I will prioritize logos that give the impression of an old, boring floor being refinished to be clean and new and nice. Only the surface is replaced, though, so this should not look like construction or replacing the entire floor.
Thanks for your great work. I am now convinced that DesignCrowd was the best way for me to find the logo I need.
You probably do not know, but low ratings (one and two stars) cause the designer's personal rating to crash. And he has no motivation to offer new designs. Better eliminate without putting stars. Please do not use stars to sort.
Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you, z.design, for this feedback. I will take this into consideration. Is there another way to sort?
yes, use 3 4 5 stars.
3 not good, 4 neutral, 5 great
Hello everybody,
I am realizing that what I want is a logo that tells a story about a floor being refinished. The logo should tell a story through the image about a transformation from an old to a new floor. I do not want something that simply looks like a floor.
I want the logo to open a story loop in the mind of those who are looking at it. By that I mean that I want it to raise questions in their minds which are not answered by the logo itself. The story will be finished when their floor is refinished.
A beautiful floor is the end result of what I am offering potential customers, but a beautiful floor on the logo is too boring to me. I want the logo to go from old to new.
I will prioritize submissions with this theme, and will reject simple geometric designs or simple boards. So far, only a couple designers have submitted logos which clearly give the impression of a floor going from old to new, and I would love to see what the rest of you can produce.
Have a great weekend!
Hello again,
I realize that this process would have been easier for you if I had said these things at the beginning, but the work you are submitting is helping me to realize what I really want in this logo.
I want to see the process of transformation actually happening in the logo. Not just a brighter and a duller color, but some representation of the actual transformation process. Does this make any sense?
I think that what I want is a clear difference between the old part and the new part of the floor, with some element in between which makes it clear that transformation is happening. The part of the logo doing the transformation should somehow represent reality, and not be something totally disconnected, like a leaf or something.
Hello once again!
In case I was not clear enough before, I want to try and explain once again what I am wanting.
I want a logo that graphically represents an old floor being given a new finish. It should be ONE floor, not two. The same floor should be turning from old to new. And there should be something between the old and the new to represent the PROCESS of transformation that is happening to the floor.
The logo should leave a question in people's minds. The question should be something like: "What is the new floor going to look like?" Or, "What will the whole floor look like when the process is finished?"
Thank you all for your work! I'm sorry I wasn't this clear from the beginning, but you are helping me to discover what I want!

I have posted a picture in the brief to try and illustrate what I am wanting. This is rough, but it is an attempt to show visually what I have been trying to say with words. Old and new, with change happening.
feedback on entry #21852441
Hello everybody,
I'm sorry I haven't been giving any feedback lately. This has been a super busy week sanding and refinishing two different floors. Most days I have been working almost 12 hours.
You have all made this process quite difficult for me! There are very many very good logos to choose from, and I find it difficult to do so. But, hopefully over the weekend I will have time to go through your submissions again and come closer to making my choice. Thank you for all your great work, and have a great weekend!
