I need a logo for my academic research lab at the University of Colorado, Boulder. My lab's name is the "Matter Assembly Computation Lab" or abbreviated "MACLab" or "MAC Lab". "MACLab" or MAC Lab" or "MACLAB" – could be on different lines too. “MAC” should always be capitalized. The letters of “lab” can be upper or lower or a mix; depends on what works visually. I need a logo that can be used in two ways: 1) In presentations, posters, or letterhead. In these cases small text in the logo will not be legible, so the logo should be easy to read. 2) On my website, and when zoomed in on the logo as you might do in a particular slide. In these cases small text as part of the logo is fine. I would like the logo to reflect my lab’s mission: to enable engineers to design and fabricate objects using many different materials using computation (simulation) and automation (3D printing) to make new multi-material objects automatically. We do a lot of work with “voxel” (volumetric pixel) based design, so one concept is to make the logo look as though it’s being built from different materials shaped like pixels (or voxels if you want to do a cool 3D-rendered logo). See the attached illustration for one concept. Please note that I don’t really like the visuals of this early concept, which is why I’m posting this task here! Another possible but not required design idea: my university’s colors are Black and Gold (see: https://www.colorado.edu/brand/downloads), so if you’re looking for a color scheme, that would fit the rest of the logos here; this is NOT a requirement though! I’m fine being different if you have a cool idea!
