Company Description
We are an online business that helps employees and entrepreneurs make the transition from individual contributor to people manager. We teach how to lead people for the first time. We also teach managers who already have some experience managing people how to become better at it. We teach a leadership style that relies on empathy, listening, empowering people to voice their ideas and creating an atmosphere of trust.
We teach through our blog (written and video content), 1 to 1 coaching and an interactive online course that focuses on building a community where people help each other in the learning process
We are targeting people and companies who are serious about developing leadership skills and recognize that high quality help comes with a premium price.
Design Preferences
The logo should be modern and subtle. It should convey that we offer a premium service. I prefer minimal designs over complex ones, however it does not need to be all the way on the minimal spectrum. It could include a stylized version of a foothold and a reference to leadership or a leader. For example it could be (but does not need to be) a foothold climbers would use (however not the ugly indoor climbing kind) or a climber trying to reach a peak with the guidance of a leader. The logo design should be somewhat abstract, since we do not cater to climbers specifically. “Foothold” in the company name is meant as a metaphor for the type of leader that provides support for his team members to develop and grow. A good foothold is there right when it is needed. The climber knows that she can rely on it to hold her weight. At the same time, like a good leader, a foothold never pushes the climber in a direction they don’t want to go. When the climber looks up, she can see the next foothold, showing her the way to the top. This is the kind of leadership style we are trying to teach.
The logo should include the company name (foothold leadership) and the tagline (learn to lead).
Colors should convey the premium positioning (muted / desaturated is better than bright / loud colors)
