Here are the description for some of the songs. I will send the rest shortly.
1. Ode to Joy (German: An die Freude)
"Ode to Joy" is an ode written in the summer of 1785 by German poet, playwright, and historian Friedrich Schiller and best known for its use by Ludwig van Beethoven in the final (fourth) movement of his Ninth Symphony, completed in 1824.
Freude, schöner Götterfunken,
Tochter aus Elysium,
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum.
Deine Zauber binden wieder,
Was die Mode streng geteilt;
Alle Menschen werden Brüder,
Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.
2. O Christmas Tree (German: O Tannenbaum)
Based on a traditional folk song which was unrelated to Christmas, "O Tannenbaum" became associated with the traditional Christmas tree by the middle of the 19th century. A Tannenbaum is a fir tree. The lyrics do not actually refer to Christmas, or describe a decorated Christmas tree. Instead, they refer to the fir's evergreen quality as a symbol of constancy and faithfulness.
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
wie treu sind deine Blätter!
Du grünst nicht nur zur Sommerzeit,
Nein auch im Winter, wenn es schneit.
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
wie treu sind deine Blätter!
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
Your branches green delight us!
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
Your branches green delight us!
You’re green in summer days are bright,
You’re green in winter snow is white,
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
Your branches green delight us!
3. Hallelujah
"Hallelujah," the song by Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, teaches us, is a refrain worthy of times of celebration, of mourning, of regret, of catharsis, and reconciliation. Cohen's song tells a story of broken love, true love remembered and mourned, guilt, penance, and of finding peace.
Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you dont really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor falls, the major lifts
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
4. Edelweiss
The song by Rodgers and Hammerstein from the 1965 movie classic, The Sound of Music, needs to further introduction.
Edelweiss
Edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Small and white, clean and bright
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss
Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever
5. Angelfish
This composition by Canadian musician Anne Crosby Gaudet has no lyrics. This piece captures the imagination with gently flowing sounds and creates the peaceful movement of the angelfish with graceful crossing hand patterns.
6. Home on the Range
"Home on the Range," the state song of Kansas since 1947, was composed by violinist Daniel Kelley with text by otolaryngologist Dr. Brewster Higley. The words "Home on the Range" never appear in Higley's original text. He titled the work "My Western Home," though it often was titled by its first line as well. The poem was published in the Kansas newspaper Kirwin Chief in 1876. However, within a few years of publication, "Home on the Range" gained immense popularity throughout the United States and both composer and writer became practically anonymous as settlers claimed the song as their own.
O give me a home where the buffaloes roam
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day
Home, home on the range
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day
got it.
thanks
Here are the other songs:
7. Green Frog Hop
Rib-bit, rib-bit, rib-it, rib-it, rib-it
What's as nice as a li'l green frog!
It won't bark like a big old dog.
Won't act mean like a cat up a tree,
that's why it's al-ways a frog for me!
Rib-bit, rib-bit, rib-it, rib-it, rib-it
rib-bit, rib-bit, rib-it, rib-it
rib-bit, rib-it, rib-it, SPLASH!
8. Ponies in Denver
This is my own composition, written during my trip to India in December, 2019. Just prior to that, I went to Denver, Colorado to ski with my parents. Hence, the reference to Denver in the song.
I couldn’t find the perfect man to marry me.
So I married a boy named Aaron
But he locked me up in my house
And didn’t let me do anything.
So I gave up on my husband
And kept my ponies in Denver.
Yeah!
9. Sunshine Up High
This is my first composition, written at our Montreal house in April 2013.
Sunshine up high, on mountain treetops
Down below oceans flow
Lions, tigers, and bears
Search for their prey
As I studied them, carefully
As I started singing
Sunshine up high, on mountain treetops
Down below oceans as they sway
I love you every day.
10. Feel the light
This is my latest composition. I have not written the music for this yet but I hope to have it ready before my next concert.
Feel the light, Feel the light
Always look on the bright side
Do this on the double
Fight trouble
Feel the light, Feel the light
Always look on the bright side
As my heart flows to and fro
There’s no way I’m gonna let you go
Feel the light, Feel the light
Always look on the bright side
As I love the trees
I can care for them with ease
And as I love the flower
It will give me power
Feel the light, Feel the light
Always look on the bright side
We will need content for a twelve-page brochure (this is including the cover and the back page).
folded 8.5x11 booklet should always be divisible by four.
thanks.
thanks.
i'm working on it.
I just uploaded the draft pages of the songbook.
please check it out and let me know if anything needs to be changed.
thanks.
HI,
Please share the images
Hello,
The design looks very good. I have a few questions:
1. I was not able to view the whole brochure together, i.e. scroll through the pages in the same file. Can this be done?
2. How many pages will the brochure have altogether? In addition to the electronic files, I will need to ask Design Crowd to send me printed copies of this brochure. Each guest will receive one printed copy. Will the print be on both sides of each page?
3. I wanted the second page (after the cover page) to list the songs (like the index page in a book). Is this possible?
4. The cover page should say: BAND WILDLIFE DEBUT CONCERT. Also, can you make DEBUT CONCERT have a different font than BAND WILDLIFE? Alternatively, put them on different ones?
5. Change the date from August 14 to August 21. This needs to be changed on the card as well.
6. Change THE CONCERT SONG LYRICS to PROGRAM.
7. Some of the guests will not be able to attend in person. So they will be attending online via zoom. The zoom link needs to be included in both the card and brochure.
Thanks
