Resumen de Diseño de Logo
We like using the idea of a hand held up as a sign of a notice to stop, possibly a stop sign behind it? the text either outside or inside of the hand. This is a logo for a campaign educate the public to understand that “dual-use” genetic engineering and weaponization of pathogens are a clear violation of international treaties (the Biological Weapons Convention of 1972) and U.S. law (the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act of 1989).
In 2022 OCA and our allies across the U.S. and the globe will be launching a “Stop Weaponizing Pathogens” campaign. “Governments that participate in such biological weapon research generally distinguish between ‘biowarfare’ and ‘biodefense,’ as if to paint such ‘defense’ programs as necessary. But this is rhetorical sleight-of-hand; the two concepts are largely indistinguishable. ‘Biodefense’ implies tacit biowarfare, breeding more dangerous pathogens for the alleged purpose of finding a way to fight them. While this work appears to have succeeded in creating deadly and infectious agents, including deadlier flu strains, such ‘defense’ research is impotent in its ability to defend us from this pandemic.”
