We need a logo for our Australian Perinatal Interprofessional Education for Maternity Clinicians project (PIPE-MC). Perinatal includes the time duration of a pregnancy that extends to the birth of the baby and up to one year following birth . The aim of the PIPE-MC program is to strengthen the capacity of health professionals to care for women with perinatal mental health concerns by designing, implementing and evaluating a simulation-based, interprofessional training program. Target participants include Maternity Clinicians including Obstetricians, General Practitioners, Midwives, Child & Family Health Nurses, Social Workers and Drug & Alcohol workers. This program will be offered in a range of interactive formats (face-to-face; online) for maximum flexibility and accessed in remote, rural, regional, and metro locations. The focus will be on simulation-based learning for skill development, enhanced by Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality resources. The learning will be interprofessional and team/group-based learning rather than individual learning.
Our vision for the logo will include
• something that implies a pipe or pipeline as that is the acronym for the project but if the logo was to look something like a PIPE we would want this to have soft edges and imply caring and connection
• Many people can be involved in the care of women and these people collaborate as an interprofessional team so we may want to include that as part of the PIPE design
• mothers babies and families are clearly also at the heart of the project – so the logo may reflect that
We have included an image to reflect some nice colours. These colour palettes are only a suggestion and that adhering to these palettes is not a strict requirement. The designer should be encouraged to experiment with a colour palette that they have chosen. Black and white can also be used as part of the logo’s design.
If you include any graphic of a head or group of heads they could be shaded differently implying different professionals and different women from diverse backgrounds. We do not want reds & oranges.
