Resumen de Diseño de Logo

I'm looking for a great logo. I first thought maybe a linear, striking, sporty word "SCORPIONS" with a much smaller "Oliver Elementary" above it, that includes some form of stylized but recognizable scorpion OR a scorpion tail. The logo will be used against black and grey backgrounds, and should be in school colours of dark green, black and white. My second idea was a circle with a curved scorpion tail in it, with Oliver Elementary and Scorpions written around the circle, as in the attached idea file. My feeling, thought, is that the lettering isn't striking enough in the sample photo. I'm open to ideas!!! Thank you!!!
