You don''t need to be invited to do this, just do it and submit your entry. 

Actually, the customer has 1 spare participation payment which they can allocate to a designer by going their portfolio page and clicking "Invite to project".

Obviously, designers should also just create designs and submit them rather than waiting for an invite.  (FYI - If the invite stays there to the end of the project it gets paid out as a bonus payment).

Oh I see, thanks for the heads up. I was wondering why there was no "Reserve a Participation Payment option, that explains it.
