Resumen de Diseño de Logo
I need a logo design for my small craft and design business. I run the business from home which is based in Melbourne, Australia.
Currently, I sew lanyards, hair bows and scrunchies, wristlets, pet bandanas etc and I also design printable art for the home. Having said that, I am not limited by those products because I love crafting and handmaking things in general; so, I might introduce other products in the future.
The business name is not an actual word, it's derived from a mixture of letters from my children's names.

Design brief:
- I want the name to be the logo. No pictorial image.
- I want the logo to communicate the fun and enjoyment I feel when making my products.
- fun and playful design
- needs to look good in b&w
- if you use any colours, only 1 or 2 maximum.
- no rainbows
- no fine lines. I will be printing the logo on clothing labels. So it needs be clear when printed small
- keep it simple yet original. When designing, please keep the motto "less is more" in mind.
- I'd like to see versions of the logo with the name and tag line together; and the name on its own.
- play around with the typography. Give it a unique playful character.
Actualizaciones
We are extending the deadline because none of the designs stood out. Here are the common mistakes designers made:
- the designs looked like the name was typed and sent to me
- the designers chose a 'playful' looking font as opposed them "playing" and manipulating the font to make it playful and unique
- some designers just created an offset, coloured each letter, reflected some letters and turned some on different angles. That's not creativity. My kids do those things for their school projects.
- some designers had pictorial images with the name, like needle and thread, a ball of yarn, lighbulb, hand, pencil. I don't want images like that. It limits what I do.
- the biggest mistake was, not reading the brief. I received a lot of generic, sleek, cold, corporate looking designs with colours like blue and silver gradient, with the logo mock placed on a corporate building. I'm a small home business. I work from my living room.
What I'm looking for:
- read and understand the brief. If you have questions, ask me.
- don't type the name and send it to me.
- be original. I don't want something 'unique' from dafont.com, or fontsquirrel.com; create something yourself.
- don't repeat any of the mistakes mentioned above. This time, I will give give star ratings and eliminate designs straight away.
