I’d like a logo that I can use as:
* Branding
* Clothes labels
* in Web banner
* in Letterheads
I’d like it to have a ‘long / big’ version that incorporates the brand name: That’s Sew Bren
But ideally can also have a common ‘short / small’ version.
Maybe the full version has some kind of graphic/logo and all of the words, and the short form to just be the graphic/logo maybe.
I’m looking for a logo.
Ideally one that is designed in such a way that it lends itself to be used in big and little places.
One where it’s the full thing, incorporating all of the words “That’s Sew Bren”; but that has a component within it that can be used independently in short-form. (Think the McDonalds “M”, or the picture of the Apple for Apple.
i.e. like those in the pictorial/combination logo style in the options.
So for example when I use the logo in a web page I can display the whole thing, but when I put it in a small clothes label I can use the short-form of it, and people will still know the brand from both.
My initial thought was a needle and thread making the “B” but maybe that’s a bit cliché/generic, and I don’t want to lead thoughts down one direction really as I’m sure you’d have much better thoughts than me anyhow.
(I don’t think I should have mentioned thread on the B as something I was thinking.
I wouldn’t mind something that included that, as long as it’s either interesting or not the only thing about it, but I’m getting a lot of very generic designs around that theme, with just a very simple thin thread making a B. )
So think sewing machines, dressmaking forms / mannequins, tape measures, tailoring, fabric, needles and thread, clothing garments, made to measure, design, etc.
I’m also open to some very abstract / modernist designs being put forward too.
Something to compare to what I already have seen.
Having a look online, I thought I’d add some links to logos I thought were very unique, IP protectable, and fit my aesthetic - just for some added inspiration:

I’d be very interested to see some more modern, abstract, imaginative submissions.
Unfortunately a lot of the submissions so far have been very generic, or just a very simple thread making a “B”. Whilst I like that idea, it needs to be more thoughtful / impactful than just that.
I definitely would like a motif/graphic/icon/logo part of it. Something that can stand on its own as a logo/trademark. Think of the McDonalds “M”, or Apple’s apple with the chunk taken out of it.
As I’d like to use it on fabric tags as well as online, lines that are too thin, or gaps that are too narrow won’t work well. So thicker lines / wider gaps. Can’t be too busy or intricate.
Note. TSB is the name of a bank. So would avoid this abbreviation.
