Hi Ian,

This is a new project in the north east - bringing the talented youngsters together to find ways of making a job, finding somewhere to live, making friends.

We are getting start-up funding from local organisations.

The graphic needs to be something teens would like to represent them but to capture the commitment of funders.

We had wondered about it being called the Tyne Tees Project - but we haven't got a title for the groups yet.

Does that give you enough? Pam

Hi designers....thank you for your work, I am loving your ideas. I am noticing that potentially when figures are used if you are female you may feel it is directed and boys/men .... We want to attract both male and female - participants and funders...anything you can do by bringing in a second figure would be great. Pam

Did you mean Tyne TeeNs Project? And if you'd make it guaranteed, you'd be more likely to get more enthusiasm from us designers!

Haha! I like the play on words!

Bri I didn't guarantee payment because I have used Design Crowd a few times with mixed results. I have in the past done competitions and then selected several designs and paid all of those selected. I have had ongoing relationships with certain designers through the life of the respective projects. Recently, because of the minimum charges introduced by DC it has meant I have used it less which then stops me getting to know new designers and designers getting new projects.

I do understand your point but I suppose I saw this a bit as you would when pitching for a contract...only the chosen design gets the payment and the ongoing brief. I did restrict my initial invitation to three designers whose work I liked which I think shows a professional understanding of the expectation vs opportunity.

I do hope you might send in something worthy of your portfolio - I have given feedback to a couple of designers who submitted figures as part of their design that they need to represent genders and race in a way that doesn't exclude anyone from feeling that they would be welcome.

Best wishes,

Pam
