Our Project, Opt-AMR, is trying to control the spread of antimicrobial resistance by improving prescribing practices in clinics, and community behaviour for using antibiotics. All of this work will be located in remote areas of Uganda, Malawi, and Zambia. The logo should reflect this context. Our last project based in hospitals, for example, had an African Drum in it. We try to understand how AMR spreads from one community to another. Currently, local people will seek help from traditional healers, or obtain medication from medicine vendors which can have out-of-date or bogus meds. Sometimes they take a partial rather than a full dose of meds. All of these behaviours, breed AMR.
