Resumen de Diseño de Logo
About the charity:
Ellis Impact is a fundraising and donor advising organization, targeting wealthy donors who give $10,000-$1m per year. We raise donations for charities that focus on global health and development, animal welfare and climate change, and that independent research organizations proved to be the most effective charities in their field.
Ellis Impact builds on the idea of “effective giving”, which means donating money on the basis of where donations can do the most good, rather than some or a little bit of good. Charities often differ considerably in how effective they are in transforming the donations they receive into positive outcomes: the best charities can be anywhere from 10-100 times more effective than the average! So it’s important to take the time to research which charity can produce the greatest benefit with each dollar.
Our new charity will promote the idea of effective giving in New York City, provide information on which charities are most effective, and fundraise for the most efficient charities by establishing strong relationships with donors. Our mission is to help New York donors and philanthropists not waste their generosity, but have the biggest positive impact they can through their charitable giving.
Our name, Ellis Impact, is inspired by Ellis Island, an immigration station in New York Harbor that operated from 1892 to 1954, and which served as the primary entry point for millions of immigrants coming to the United States. People arrived hoping for a better life and greater opportunities. We hope to revive the spirit of Ellis Island by empowering wealthy New Yorkers to give back and enable a better and more hopeful life for people and animals around the world.
Target audience:
Our geographic focus is New York City, and viewers of the logo will be English-speakers. In particular, we want to appeal to wealthy people who are (1) entrepreneurial or analytically-minded, often with university degrees in quantitative fields like finance or economics (2) altruistic, caring about improving the lives of others and the world.
Objective:
Design a logo to appear on our website, marketing materials, charity recommendation briefs, and in correspondence with donors, charities, and influential figures in the US (journalists, celebrities, public intellectuals, etc.)
Style preference:
Simple, minimalist, clean, elegant, modern. Simple color palette. We
The logo should work on both white and dark backgrounds. Please provide a rectangular and square version.
Charity name inclusion:
The logo can include the charity name (Ellis Impact) or even only consist of the name. You can position the name within or to the side of the logo.
Preferred format:
SVG or high-resolution PNG (>2000px in each dimension).
Colors:
Please see the attached PDF with a set of palettes that we like, but don’t be limited by them. We are open minded toward other suggestions.
It is not required that the organization’s purpose is understood from the logo alone. We think both a logo that somehow reinforces what the charity does as well as an agnostic logo (i.e., without symbols or elements relating to our mission or geographic focus) could work.
Here are examples of other logos we liked/disliked.
