This is for a Concession Stand at a state fair. The restaurant will be called "The Slip". We are looking for a simplistic/minimalistic design with the tag line "Tie up and Take a bite". The Business will be established in 2026. We are looking for nautical colors and themes. Looking to branch out so anything is welcomed. A boat tied to a dock, sunrise, a rope that is included in the image. Anything that gives off a lake side and fresh vibes. I don't necessarily want the structure in the image. The image is just there to give a feel of what the building will look like.

Name & Core Concept
The proposed name for the concession stand would be “The Slip”. The concept is focused around celebrating “The Land of 10,000+ Lakes”. Whether you’re boating, fishing, kayaking, or simply lounging, each moment by the water feels like a chance to escape, recharge, and create lasting memories with friends and family. We believe many of these memories start around being dockside on the boat slip so “Tie Up and Take a Bite” with us.

The Slip is more than just a concession stand—it’s an extension of Minnesota’s beloved lake life that draws on the nostalgic experience of stepping on to a dock and slipping into a boat or chair where food, friends and family come together. This unique space will immerse visitors in an authentic, welcoming atmosphere that feels like an extension of the docks and waters they love.

Structure & Architectural Concept
The physical space of The Slip will evoke the atmosphere of a traditional boat slip, blending the rustic charm of a boathouse with an open-air design, creating a feeling of being dockside. The structure will evoke the warmth and character of being lakeside with exposed beams and nautical accents reinforcing the theme. The open walls will create an airy, inviting environment that allows guests to stay connected to their surroundings while enjoying their meal. This design is a pitched roof, reminiscent of old dockside sheds or boat houses. The decor including weathered rope accents and vintage signage can further enrich the lakeside ambiance. The goal is to make them feel like they are standing at the end of a dock, making The Slip a true extension of Minnesota’s lakeside and boating culture.

The Heart of The Slip
Within The Slip design there is a defining feature: a serving station designed to imitate a boat, seamlessly blending function with the charm of Minnesota lake life. This structure will replicate the look and feel of a classic wooden boat, complete with nautical details that transport guests to the heart of the water.

Designed to be more than just a place to order food, this boat-inspired counter will serve as an interactive point where guests step up to the “dock” to place their orders, engage with friendly staff, and receive their meals. The unique design creates a memorable and immersive experience, reinforcing the lakeside theme.
