Mass shooter, quadroon Grady Worthington, schools reporter Chantelle Williams. Jewish commodity trader, Zev Bernstein, schools his trading partner, Jack Elliot, on how it feels to be a minority. Worthington’s shooting lands Zev in a coma, and they all school each other. How did they get so ignorant? And about what? Trading, i.e., capitalism. Politics, i.e., corruption. Killing, i.e., war. The stuff you only say in public, never with a friend of another ethnicity, i.e., racism. Therefore, the topic of this novel is allodoxaphobia. [stay with me]

How many gears does an Italian tank have? It’s got nineteen in reverse and one in forward in case the enemy attacks from the rear. If ethnic comedy is offensive, you might have caught allodoxaphobia.

Allodoxaphobia? A plague spreads unseen through America. It’s faced by a financial wizard [Jew boy], his partner [Whitey], and an African-American news lady. Three subcultures face allodoxaphobia—fear of conflicting opinions.

Chantelle Williams is sent with John “Bulldog” Drummond to cover a mass shooting in the Jewish suburb of Highland Park. WBX news gets her to take commodity trader, Jack Elliot, to interview the quadroon shooter, Grady Worthington, who justifies himself with brutal, woke truth that forces Chantelle to drop every racial inhibition and engage the Whitey with a variety of inappropriate interracial topics. Jack’s Jewish trading partner, Zev Bernstein, cannot be interviewed due to his coma.

Shooter, Worthington, opens the door to the issues—war, capitalism, corruption, and race. All the issues climax at Zev’s memorial and Shiva.

Jack and Chantelle eventually turn romantic and the tension of the issues builds. Grady is shown to be a troubled shooter but not the killer. Zev’s brother has the fake art, “Storm on Galilee,” and the WBX mole, a buxom beauty, uncovers corruption in the Chicago Police.

QUALIFICATION? Ritchie’s childhood gets the blame—the Jim Crow South and the bazaars of Kabul, Afghanistan. Ritchie drove a bus on the Southside of Chicago, listened to innocent criminals for half a decade as a jail guard, then spent his careen trading in the pits of the Board of Trade. Hot tip from the floor: THE CROWD IS ALWAYS WRONG. It took Ritchie a couple of years to understand the meme, and a couple decades to resolve the themes of this novel.

WRITINGS His memoir, God in the Pits, was published by Macmillan, and he wrote Spirit of the Rainforest, the memoir of an Amazon shaman. (both have sold about 40,000) He’s a member of Jack Schwager’s Market Wizard series.
