# River Grille Logo Design Brief

## About the Brand

River Grille is an upscale contemporary Southern restaurant located in historic Savannah, Georgia. We are **not** a French bistro or an old-fashioned seafood restaurant. Our goal is to create a timeless, sophisticated brand that feels equally at home on our building, menus, signage, merchandise, social media, and apparel.

Our guests are locals, business professionals, tourists, and couples looking for an elevated dining experience. We want the logo to feel established, memorable, and premium without appearing overly formal or pretentious.

## Overall Style

We are looking for a logo that is:

* Elegant
* Timeless
* Refined
* Confident
* Understated
* High-end
* Contemporary with classic influences

Think more along the lines of premium hospitality brands rather than trendy restaurant logos.

## What We Like

The current concept is very close to what we're looking for.

We like:

* Clean typography
* The "RG" monogram concept
* Fine line work
* Symmetry
* Classic proportions
* A sophisticated divider or ornamental element
* Logos that feel like they could last 30+ years

## What We DON'T Want

Please avoid:

* Anchors
* Fish
* Crabs
* Shrimp
* Waves
* Boats
* Palm trees
* Obvious Southern clichés
* Cartoon graphics
* Rustic or farmhouse aesthetics
* Overly ornate Victorian scrollwork
* Generic restaurant clip art

We want elegance, not themed décor.

## Typography

Typography is extremely important.

We prefer:

* High-end serif fonts
* Custom lettering where appropriate
* Balanced spacing
* Strong readability
* Luxury hospitality feel

The words "River Grille" should be the hero of the logo.

## The RG Monogram

The attached concepts show the direction we've been exploring.

We especially like:

* Interlocking letters
* Negative space
* Line weight that starts heavier and becomes thinner
* Balanced geometry
* A monogram that can stand on its own for menus, social media icons, glassware, embroidery, coasters, and signage.

Please refine this concept rather than replacing it entirely.

## Color

Primary logo should work in:

* Black
* White
* One color
* Gold foil
* Embossed
* Engraved

It must remain recognizable without color.

## Where It Will Be Used

The logo will appear on:

## Attached Concepts

I've attached the concepts we've developed so far.

Please use these as inspiration and evolution—not necessarily as the final answer. I believe we're very close and would like to see refinements, stronger typography, and more polished executions while staying true to the overall direction.

Please see the attached with the direction we are going in. I like the this for the most part but the RG feels a little unfinished I think that's my biggest complaint and then I'd like versions with Savannah in place of the by Vic's and also a version with by Vic's. I also like this line and worked a while on that as it's a subtle and classy nod to the river/ocean which we are on. I also need a few different versions like the uploaded file where I can use them in different outlets. Sign, hat, uniforms, business cards, website, etc etc. I think the attached photo is a great example of what im looking for. I also need them in different color schemes for differnt outlets, Gold, black, and white.
