I can live with grainy logos for now.

The site you like is html5, css3 and jQuery running the animations.

html5 is going to be a concrete standard until newer tech comes along.

If you like the simplicity of html5 - I can put up a test site for you... just did one for a honey company here..( theme is based on their product - and not all links are live as it's a check it out and thumbs up or down project )
