Resumen de Diseño de Logo

We are looking for a logo for a company called Tomayto. The name is a play on the age old debate around how to pronounce “tomato”: ToMAYto versus ToMAHto. Tomayto is a site where people can come to find out how other people from around the world say the same words differently. Typical users will be students, educators, journalists, tourism professionals, and business people. They will come to Tomayto to listen and record words in multiple languages/dialects/vernaculars, or simply to hear words and names that are interesting or difficult to pronounce.

An ideal logo will appeal to people from all corners of the world and translates across cultures. We would like to see versions that use a image/symbol without the company’s name, as well as versions that include the word Tomayto. The logo could have one or a combination of the following attributes: a picture of a tomato, a sense of sharing, a celebration of diversity, global connections, spoken/audible use of language, and/or the notion of being outside of your comfort zone. We are open to colors other than red or orange, although that’s what we initially imagined using. We are looking for something that pops off the page. We want it to have personality, to be compelling but also imply fun. We do not necessarily expect an exact image of a tomato. We want your creative juices to flow freely!

The final product must be vector. We like logos that are simple and have 3 or less colors. No bevels, no drop shadows, no borders. The font/typography must be simple, easy to read.
