Torpedo Marine is looking for a new logo.
Torpedo brand is a new high end RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) boat manufacturer in Brazil.
Our boats are designed in Italy, the birthplace of the best Inflatable Boats and produced in Brazil with the best materials in the world.
Marketing: we will be selling a design product, so we expect to charge more than our competitors and deliver a high end product. Costumers are looking for a cool product, in fact it is a big boy toy. We are aiming on 30+ years old consumers that already have a boat or need a 20ft-35ft boat to leave it on the beach house.
The guys that will be buying our products are BMW, Land Rover, Hummer, Porsche and Mercedes Benz drivers, so, as you can imagine, they will expect a cool branding work with emotional appeal and a company that offers more than a product, a lifestyle and status.
We are looking for a cool, modern, clean, bold logo; or should we say an emblem? There's not a fixed idea if the logo must have a graphic element or if it should be text only, however our logo must be easy to recognize and easy to apply in our boats (also in the inflatable tubes, for instance, which may have different colors), marketing material, clothing, etc. The idea is to have a clean, yet outstanding logo that, in the future, anyone can recognize the boat, or, better yet, the company, just by seeing it. A nice logo that can be used in shirts, and apparel, for instance.

The designer needs to keep in mind that the marketing and sales efforts are very similar to the luxury car market.
We are looking for a logo that is simple and yet easy to adapt in our inflatable tubes or rubber, good examples are: Audi, Tesla, Billabong, Quicksilver, North Face, Electric, Mercury Marine, Mann, Mitsubishi Motors, RVCA, BMW, WRC, etc.
Here are some examples of logos that we like in the nautical industry, but keep in mind that we are looking for the creativity used in the logos mentioned above.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: On the last few days we were amazed with so many great designs have been posted in our project.
We have 3 lines of designs that are more connected on what we are looking for and after discussing and talking with these designers we have a more clear idea on how to instruct the following steps of our logo, for that we'll need an extra to finish the process.
Soon we'll be messaging our favorite designs and posting updates in our brief.

Guys, we've received lots of great designs and it has come down to 4 finalists, which can be found on this link
We have 4 very different concepts, but they all have one thing in common, it is very easy to apply in our products, clean and modern; however we need something beyond that, this option is in the top right now, because we can use the "T" emblem on the inflatable tubes and the "Torpedo" in other parts of the boat; besides that it is cool to use on sales/marketing material and merchandise, such as t-shirts, outerwear, etc.
We want to see other ideas that go beyond these designs, however these 4 options are more connected on what we are looking for.

Please take the brand references we've posted at the brief as inspiration, it is very important for us to have a logo that it is more connected with modernity and design than it is to extreme luxury, chromme lettering, fancy italic fonts, shields, etc;
Keep in mind that it needs to be very easy to apply on a flexible surface, such as rubber/inflatable tubes.
The "T" logo/emblem will be used on our inflatable tubes and will made from rubber, when the "Torpedo" will be used on the center console of the boat and it will be made from metal, however they will both be used in ads and marketing material.

We havejust updated a new idea... So far we have not yet found what we really arelooking for, thus we are changing a little our brief so that we can see if weget something in the track we are aiming...
The ideais to forget a little the emblem (either the "T" or the "TM") and think of a logo that IS THE NAME ITSELF,such as the examples uploaded (they are just an idea we have), or the followingones:
- Garmin(with its blue triangle) - http://www.garmin.com/us/
-Cousteau (with its red hat over the letter "O") - http://www.cousteau.org/
- Citibank(with the umbrella over the lette T") - http://logodatabases.com/citibank-logo.html/large-citibank-logo
From a functional point of view, for ribs is better tohave simple and thick logos. This is becausethe surface on which it will be glued is almost always the rubber tubes and itis not easy to work on fabrics to cut out shapes too fine (bonding problems,dilations, shape retention, fragility). More a logo is simple, more isall-around
Weneed a dynamic form logo - at the end, they are fast sport boats withouttoo many graphic information. The best thing would be to get out the logo fromthe written Torpedo, so the font used is very important.
I hope we can find it this time. We will give some more time for the development of it.

We have received lots of designs that are great, however we can't print it on the material that we'll be using.
Please consider the following:
- Please send logos on grayscale or black/white
- Don't mind having it done with shades
- Focus on Torpedo/TORPEDO
- The Graphic element for a T is desirable but not necessary if the "Torpedo" stands out
