Resumen de Diseño de Logo

First thing is first… I need you to understand what we do and please do not confuse us with brokers….

We are a service aimed at the airbnb market which is made up of people who rent their home, apartment or spare room for short stays or vacations on airbnb and similar websites. When an apartment is rented this way… the one who owns the apartment is the host and the person paying to stay is the guest. They meet at the apartment for check in to discuss rules etc. and the keys are given to the guest. Then again at the end of the guests stay for check out.

This meeting is obviously important but there are many times the host will need to be late, on a business trip etc. So many have hired someone to meet the guest on their behalf to perform that meeting. In NYC where this business will be located, this happen rather frequently. This type arrangement of accommodations is becoming very popular and preferred to hotels.
I am starting this biz to perform this service and "brand" it. As the name states…. you are renting (hiring) someone to meet your guest. That hired person is acting as the host thus rent-A-host. SO an image of a host is a necessary part of the logo since in the end, you are in effect hiring (or renting) someone for a quick job. I have rented my apartments on airbnb myself for some time and done well with it. Situations that I have encountered has made me see the need for certain services that could be useful to others when doing this also. I have built a suite of services available. to our customers adding a level of convenience that wasn't available before.

I am building a website (not done yet but close) You'll see on the site that I currently have a logo. (I have attached the original image for you to see). The one you see on the top is altered from the original which was red. I am more drawn to blue. It is a calming color which plays to safety and trust. The idea for the original was that it look like an old 'for rent' sign. There is also an image of a person (or the host). Obviously, The key because this all stems from that original service, the key exchange during the meeting of host and guest and probably will be our most popular service.

I feel a key needs to be in the logo for sure. As far as this business is concerned, it is a unique concept. There is no other like it that I am aware of. With that said, it is difficult to express what it is that we do to people "at a glance". Expressing its uniqueness would be great if possible. We are essentially a hybrid... property management, cleaning service, personal assistant, concierge, handyman. I have found it very difficult to graphically represent ourselves in a way that I am satisfied with. Ideally, I would love some sort of symbol that I feel is descriptive enough to get the idea across. Am I looking for that symbol to explain it all? Definitely not...I am realistic. This is why I am giving it another go with a new logo design before the site goes live and is really seen by many people.

Additional information:
As far as the new logo, this is what I like with respect to logos that I see and am drawn to. I like modern, graphically appealing logos with a rounded font that is shadowed to create that 3D look. Also I like that glossy effect on the letters as well as the reflections. AS I said, I am drawn to lighter blues as the main color (like on my website). I DO NOT want:
-to be confused with brokers, locksmiths, etc.
-a logo that is mainly just a font...i want graphics

KEEP IN MIND....THIS IS A LOGO BUT I HAVE MUCH MORE I WANT AND NEED TO DO.... I NEED A DESIGNER TO HELP ME WITH ALL THAT STUFF AND MIGHT NOT ALWAYS HAVE TIME FOR A CONTEST!!!!
