Resumen de Diseño de Póster
We need a poster that encapsulates the look and feel of our short film, 'GIFT,' and that conveys the overall tone of the movie. We encourage designers to visit www.giftshortfilm.com to view the trailer and to see stills from the film. We have numerous high-resolution (4K) frame grabs from the film that we want incorporated into the poster design. In addition to the full-size movie poster, we also need a flyer, postcards & business cards for distribution at film festivals. The flyer should have space for specific screening dates, times, and location information. The postcard should be double-sided and have room for screening information AND contact information (listed on our company web site at www.filmstigator.org). We have included very rough mockups of poster ideas for a starting point. These mockups employ a single image from the film, but we would prefer to feature multiple images on the poster. For instance, it may be preferable to see both main characters as well as the old typewriter on the poster instead of only featuring one of the characters. The final design(s) should be beautiful and intriguing enough to make festival attendees want to see the movie. Ideally, the flyer, postcards, & business cards would be simple variations on the main poster design so that all the print elements tie in visually.
Actualizaciones
There have been some valid questions about exact sizes for the poster, flier/small poster, business card & post cards – especially related to the bleed area.

We want to clarify a few additional points regarding the various designs:

We have up-sampled a number of the original images in Photoshop. The results seem workable. However, the resulting file sizes are large – in the 300MB range – and the DesignCrowd site is not allowing us to upload images that large. We've reached out to them for tech support to try and rectify the situation.
In the meantime, designers could do what we have just done in Photoshop. We used the image size command to re-sample the images to 300 dpi at a max width of 8100 pixels (the width of the largest design element needed). No noise reduction was used in the upsampling. Be sure to use the upsampling algorithm most favorable to enlargements. The images are softened slightly, as is expected, but the results are not horrible. This may be the only workaround we can offer due to the limitations on the site itself. Some of you may have already been using this process. If not, give it a try and see if it helps.

Ten images at 300 dpi are uploading now to Dropbox and will be available here:

These images have been upsampled to 300 dpi in Photoshop. We hope this helps the design process.
