Resumen de Diseño de Logo

We need a logo design for an all volunteer non-profit that raises funds to develop science and therapies to treat ultra rare genetic diseases. The name of the non-profit is THE RYAN FOUNDATION and its' tag line is FUNDING SCIENCE-FINDING HOPE.

We are looking for a simple logo that draws the viewer to see that SCIENCE will provide HOPE. One thought we had was to simply write The Ryan Foundation with the tag line Funding Science-Finding Hope in a smaller font below it with a kite (symbolizing HOPE) with a long tail that appears to be a double helix (a symbol which refers to DNA) coming out of the tag line in some way; perhaps starting in the dash between the Funding Science-Finding Hope.

We are very open to all concepts, however, including simple plays with the letters R and F and with perhaps a visual reference to genetic science with the use of a double helix. The main purpose of the logo is to improve the look on the website www.ryanfoundation.net , business cards, and letterhead, however it may also be used on t-shirts, golf shirts, etc. The logo should include the color PURPLE as often as possible. Purple is often considered the home color for MPS (mucopolysaccharidosis), the disease therapy that the Ryan Foundation has funded mostly. Enhancing logo colors to include dark purple, medium purple, dark green, and bright/lime green.


My wife and I founded the Foundation in 1991 when our 3 year old son was diagnosed with a rare and terminal illness. Our logos inn the past were more geared toward hat and shirt designs around an athletic or collegiate style logo (see attached.)
