An Overview / Background of the Business

With over thirty years experience in the industry Mr. Smith’s Interiors offers a total decorating and design service for residential and commercial properties. We aim to ensure that the end result is outstanding and reflects the personality and taste of our client. Providing friendly, honest and efficient service is part of our service mantra.

The existing logo has been in use for many years and we feel we need a new logo for the business to reflect our edge as a leading designer/decorator with access to the best products (fabrics, wallpapers, skilled tradesman/artisans, furniture, home accessories, blinds and shutters) Australia has to offer.

Located on a busy Sydney street we attract clients via a large and vibrant window display. Word of mouth referrrals by satisfied clients are also an important source of business.

Our website is dated and we intend to redo this. We also believe social media representation is important to the future growth of the business and we are represented on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Once our new logo is agreed we will review our representation on these to ensure they are consistent and enable us to promote and leverage the new logo.


The Target Market / Audience

Mr Smiths Interiors appeals to a number of target markets:
- whilst we do have younger customers most are 30 plus and have mid to high disposable income; are interested in decorating and design for their home; they see design/decorating as an investment in their home;
- people building new homes/renovating existing homes that need multiple services we offer;
- small businesses looking for a creative edge to their physical space; and
-commercial opportunities to decorate and or provide window treatments.

Design Specifics

The logo style, color and font need to convey elegance with an edge; design with flair; show creativity balanced with style; and demonstrate a commitment to excellence.

We currently have a brown/taupe logo with cream fleur de lys design which is translated into white on black for our business cards. We do not have a strong opinion on the existing design but we ask the designer to think about how or if the existing logo concept should be incorporated or whether a completely fresh approach is recommended.
