Where does the "Melbourne" in the name come from? Is it the city where the club is found or does it have some other significance?

Oddly enough, even though they are called the Melbourne Super Kings and they play cricket, AND they are paying in AUSTRALIAN dollars, they are actually from Newark New Jersey.
