Resumen de Diseño Web

About us: We are a new company that showcases beautiful products available at nearby retail stores. This homepage is meant to display the latest products featured on our site and also allow the user to search, browse with filters, and access their account details.

Currently, our home page looks a little bland. We want the focus of the site to remain on the featured photos and products but the design should be more cohesive. The most successful designs will make more subtle use of our colors, provide intuitive menu controls, and look visually stunning.

This homepage has a few sections:

Header:
-Top Section: will always remain at the top of the page. There should be space for our company name ”mOctopus”, a tagline, and a place for the menus.
-Menus: user must be able to find links for: “My profile” “My Products” “Add Product” “Preview store”
-Bottom section: this will scroll with the user and always remain at the top of the screen providing access to a search box, and filters for “location” “price” and retail categories.

Main Page:
-Each product featured is shown on a tile that includes a photo, title, price, name of store, has space to leave a comment, and include counters for "likes," comments, and "Pods"). “Pods” are bookmark folders. The user’s profile pic is also shown in miniature if they leave a comment.

The final version of the site must be delivered in a fully layered photoshop file and have versions demonstrating what the page will look like both when a user is logged-in and when logged-out.

Most of our users are female 18-45. Our customers are retail store owners who want their products to look attractive and professional.

• Our logo must be present on the site (attached to project). You're welcome to change the colors in the header but it should look good with our logo.
  
  For reference here are colors we're currently using:
  Site text is in Dark Blue: RGB(10/23/47)
  Logo color on business cards is light blue: (51/153/204)
  

Agradable de tener

• Would love to see new versions of the menus that are more modern and intuitive. Currently we just have links to each individual control. Putting these in a drop-down or re-arranging them would be nice.
