Resumen de Diseño de Logo
Sixty Three
Sixty Three is a neighborhood restaurant/bar to be located in Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston was recently voted by readers of Travel & Leisure magazine as the #1 destination in North America and the #2 destination in the world. The city is steeped in history, enjoys a vibrant night life, and attracts over 5 million visitors a year. The city is known as a food town and has seen 50+ restaurants open in 2014 in its expanding downtown area. Many restaurants embrace the historic aspects of Charleston, while many others strike a balance between new and old. Very few go the high modern route.
The restaurant is characterized by an exterior contemporary design and will be located in Charleston’s most progressive, upcoming neighborhood. The focal point of the restaurant is a heavily landscaped corner courtyard that allows for covered and open air dining. The courtyard itself sets the restaurant apart from other Charleston restaurants. The interior of the restaurant will have a clean, contemporary focus with complementary elements that add warmth to the environment (an outdoor water wall, interior plush curtains, a warm, velvet covered wall…).
The restaurant will be a highly visible neighborhood focal point designed to be a comfortable, inviting gathering spot for the neighborhood which consists of a diverse demographic of college students (18 to 22), medical and law students (23 to 28), young families with small children, and long time residents. In short, we expect the demographic the restaurant is serving to change depending on the time of the day (by way of a very general example, business people and professionals during lunch, families and an older demographic – including tourists – during brunch; young and older professionals during happy hour; families and neighborhood residents during dinner; and 22 to 30 year olds from 10:00 p.m. on.
63 is a casual, not a fine dining establishment. The focus is hamburgers, salads, craft beers, and a limited repertoire of other offerings.
We have no preconceived notions about the logo/sign, but we are looking for a contemporary appearance with high visibility and high impact. The name (63) may or may not be combined with a logo, or the name may be the logo depending on the designs generated.
We have downloaded a rendering, elevations and the floor plan. This is not a final final drawing, but should be enough to get a good idea of what the building will look like.

Having looked at a number of submissions which picked up on our request to think about red and yellow, we now have come off that a bit, in part, because the signs are looking too much like McDonalds Hamburgers!! Some submissions have been in black and white and looked pretty good, contrasting with the red on the building. We are not limiting your submissions to black by any means, but are more open toward moving away from the red and yellow content. Some submissions have been very creative in how they display the words or numbers, 63. We are intrigued by these submissions but haven't quite gotten there yet.
Thanks for everything submitted to date.

We are still looking for a contemporary modern logo to align with the building design. At this point, we are not really settled on the color scheme, but the building is definitely going to have a lot of red on it. Whether the sign should be sympathetic with the red or use it is not clear.
We are getting some very interesting and creative submissions and apologize for not providing adequate feedback in all instances. We are meeting as a group and comparing designs and our likes and dislikes.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: Not quite there yet, but getting closer. The group seems to like the idea of the number Sixty Three inside of a circle of some kind, possibly with the words Charleston, SC included.
