Hi, Thanks a lot for the invite.
I have submitted one design. Please provide feedback.
Thx for your invite today but I see you already have 467 submissions. Looks like you are already in very good hands
Actually, from those 467 submissions, more than 400 are already discarded. There a lot of poor quality work down there, so if you feel you could do better, feel free to send your idea, there's not much competition than it looks like (I would say that, currently, there are only 2-3 really good design). Anyway, thanks for the reply.
David
Wow 450 eliminated already, I would suggest you update your brief with what you don't want in your design, this may give the new designers some ideas as "what not to do" vs the very brief description you have posted as "what to do" usually poor quality submissions relates to the amount of detail given in the original brief itself. Perhaps you can take a few minutes and update your brief with some do's & don't, With 450 ideas already eliminated it would be very hard to even fathom which direction you are seeking without more details, preferences & time.. Thank you
Dear Dave Michels Designs,
Thanks for the advice, I just modified the brief.
Actually, we've let a huge freedom to test all the ideas, but the major lack of quality came from the fact that either the designers thought we were selling smileys (and therefore put a lot of emoticon in the designs, sometime ever misspelling our name as GetSmiley), either they forgot we were dealing with companies and that the logo should be a little bit sober and professional (we were even receiving clown or flower designs). But yes, I suppose a part of the lack of quality is due to the large freedom we let.
FYI, the best logo so far are either symbolic logo put next to the text, either just a shape added to our name or our initials (GS, S or G).
Thanks for the brief update. Could you please send some feedback on my recently submitted projects? I would like to know are you interested in the development of the ideas submitted out there?
Thanks for the Invite. I will get working on your logo :) Seán.
