About Us
Copylite Products is a wholesale distributor of OEM [original brand] and compatible [generic brand] parts and supplies for use in copiers, faxes, printers, and multi-function machines. In plain English…we sell all the parts and supplies [such as toner] that make up any office equipment which outputs an image on paper.
Copylite was the 1st distributor to develop and sell a generic brand copier part in the United States. We have been in business since 1972 [nearly 40 years]. Our tagline is "The Original Alternative," as in our company was the first alternative product that copier dealers had to buying original brand copier parts. Copylite is known for offering reliable and cost-effective OEM and compatible products.
Project
We require a fresh, modern and corporate identity. Please submit a stationary package inclusive of a double-sided business card (2" x 3.5"), letterhead (8.5'x11"), and standard #10 envelope (4-1/8” x 9-1/2). You may use our current logo or preferably your take on an updated one. If an attempt is made in updating the logo #004D8E or a similar hue should be used as the primary color.
The design should be clean, simple, modern and professional and make an immediate impact.
Updates
First off, thank you very much to everyone who has or is interested in submitting a design into our contest. Designing can be tedious when you're not very familiar with your client therefore your work is much appreciated.
IMPORTANT NOTE OUR TARGET MARKET tends to be primarily males in the 30-60 age range. With an emerging younger (20-38) crowd being promoted or replacing retiring or soon to retire employees. The industry ratio of women-to-men is still at about 25 to 75 but that number continues to grow. Most individuals either have a technical/servicing background or a sales background. Education ranges from high-school to certificate degrees, Associates and Bachelor degrees.

Hi everyone! Thank you very much for your submissions. Today, as the end of the contest is nearing (only 2 days left) I will be eliminating several designs. So far all of the submissions have been great, however, some of the designs are more in-tune with our vision of what our brand represents today and how it appeals to the demographics of our evolving market. 2 days remain until the end of the contest so you anyone is welcomed to submit new designs until closing. When the contest closes the designs still in consideration will be discussed and selected by myself and the CEO of our company.
If your design was eliminated, I have provided feedback as to why that was so. Many of the eliminated designs have been very nice, however, in the end we can only pick one so elimination is inevitable. Thank you.

Thank you for all your submissions! I apologize for the delay in our selection but as I mentioned before I was ill for a while and in addition to that our CEO has been away on vacation for the last 2 weeks in January. We have selected a winner. Designs 186102, 186695, 197567 were our top three designs. However, the top design selected was 186102. The decision was not an easy one we received nearly 160 entries from 60+ designers, all of which were very unique and showcased our brand with a different personality.
In choosing our winning design we took into consideration the demographics of our current market, the demographics of our evolving market, the "personality" of our brand, and the message we want to communicate moving forward.
We selected design 186102 for a number of reasons: 1) COLOR It predominantly used our traditional blue hues which was one of our "must-haves" listed on the brief and it did not supass two colors which was our "nice-to-have". 2) CREATIVITY our current logo has been a recognized logo for 40 years, we felt that in this design, the designer was able to take our current logo and modernize it to the point where it looks completely different but its still reflects a lot of the graphical elements of our current logo 3) CONCEPT We liked the fact that the two dots are still present as they represent a sheet of paper passing through rollers in a copier, however, in this design that same graphical element create an almost abstract human form. Moving forward we want to communicate the message that Copylite provides not only the tangible parts necessary for dealers to service the equipment but also provides a human element of servicing the customer/account at a personal level.
