The new Wordpress theme will be based on the University of Sydney website templates (attached: http://www.designcrowd.com.au/file.aspx?fileLocation=storage_url/brief_uploads/74826_universitystandardwebtemplate_320_brief135807.zip).

Please do not take the design of the old Wordpress theme into account. The logo, icons, graphics from the old Wordpress theme are not to be used in your design.


1. Project overview

We need a customised wordpress theme and need to update the existing website www.anxietyeducation.edu.au using the University of Sydney branding components such as logo, colours, text sizes, fonts, table styles etc.


2. Project aim

We would like the new website to make more online marketing sense. That is, we would like to increase student enrolment by improving the information on the website. Therefore, the new website needs to quickly communicate to the first time audience that: (1) this is a website from University of Sydney, (2) this web site offers a self-paced multimedia e-learning course in Anxiety Disorders, (3) this course is accredited by professional organisations and supported by the Australian Government, (4) the course is lectured by 21 experts, (5) the price is AU$400 for 6 month access and AU$200 for extension for another 6 months, (6) users can sign up for the course online and get immediate access, (7) the benefits of learning the course, (8) the learning outcome, and (9) users can access to a lot of information for free on the website (this is to be done in two ways - the new website will have a blog, and it will offer a free ebook which the users can get via e-mail - they need to supply their first name and e-mail address).

5. Things to have on the home page

The following components are something that I would suggest be included in the home page, but I would like to leave the freedom for designers to create:

(1) Menu

(2) E-Learning Portal Login form (pointing to http://www.anxietyeducation.edu.au/e-learning)

(3) Sign up button/link

(4) Information about accreditation

(5) Latest posts from the blog

(6) Free e-book opt in form - "7 Steps to Helping People with Anxiety Problems" (we will use MailChimp to deliver the e-book to the e-mail address that audience submits)

(7) Information about lecturers

(8) Our Facebook Page, Twitter and Linked Group

6. Home page layout

I would like to see different layout styles and compare. The two extremes of the spectrum would be either something like this: http://www.gplearning.com.au/ (very clean), or something more crowded like some of the examples above.

7. Attachments

Our University has some templates (including style sheets) for web designers to use. I'm also attaching a brand guideline for designer's information. I have some screenshots of the e-learning program that may be used in the design.
