I would like a design for a little ledger book for young people, say 7 to 19 year olds, to be placed on a supermarket shelf. The ledger book will have 2 types of pages, (1) ledger page with the columns: date, transaction description, money received, money paid away and balance. the first line of ledger is for the balance brought forward (2) "net worth" page (or balance sheet) allows a person to list the things they own (assets), what they owe (liabilities) and residual left after taking away what they owe from their assets (net worth).

For the cover, I would like it to say "my little ledger" or something that the designer thinks is better.

I have no other guidance including for colour etc, only thing is that I would like it to appeal to both boys and girls. If it can be given as a gift, great.

If you can fit the following quote by John D. Rockefeller from 27 March 1897, I would be quite happy. "Keep a little ledger, as I did. Write down in it what you receive, and do not be ashamed to write down what you pay away. See that you pay it away in such a manner that your father or mother may look over your book and see just what you did with your money. It will help you to save money, and that you ought to do."

Design must appeal to young people aged between 7 and 19 years old, both boys and girls. Most likely the ledger will be purchased by mums and dads on their shopping run to the supermarket for their child or children.
