I would like to develop a new, more original logo for my consulting practice called Mary Pearsall Land Studio, but the logo maybe should use MP Land Studio for visual composition. I am a woman owned business that provides a broad range of services in the field of landscape architecture, environmental planning and currently, outdoor learning environments. I NEED TO SAY UP FRONT THAT I AM NOT AN ORNAMENTAL GARDEN DESIGNER THAT WOULD SERVE BIG BUSINESS, ESTATE GARDENS, ETC. When I receive the free offers for a website already built for me, they always focus on residential garden design, lawn maintenance, etc. I do some residential design but will mostly focus on projects/sites willing to promote sustainable design.

I did this work for 10 years in the SF Bay area and have since moved my practice to Seattle. One current project that describes my range of work expertise and interests is the design and construction of a Green Infrastructure Learning Garden. It will be in SF and will promote sustainable design at a site that will become an outdoor classroom and program destination for area elementary schools. The goal is for school children to utilize the world outside as their classroom through hands on learning about environmental solutions to urban pollution and energy consumption. I am also currently writing the educational program and lesson plans that will support this garden as a learning environment and will focus on improving air, land and water quality, pollution prevention food sustainability and food justice, etc. I plan to make the new focus of my website, logo and future project proposals reflect my current work with this project team. Also, the interconnectedness between the consumption of energy, power and the environment(the organic natural world...clean air, land, water, habitat) and emerging green technologies(solar, wind, raingardens and could serve as school extended science classrooms, demonstrating environmental solutions to the next generation. This project is all about preparing/teaching today's children to be the next generation of scientists, engineers and environmentalists that will need to solve current urban pollution problems(For example: Water pollution due to outdated storm and wastewater technologies that allow sewage to be discharged into coastal bay waters).
I have worked for government as an environmental planner and land use manager, so governement has played a big role in my development as an environmental professional.
I would like a logo to be somwhat artistic, and not hard or sharp angles, nor corporate looking. Think of natural elements with more of an abstract and/or organic representation. The juxtaposition between humans,nature, kids and education(learning environments). If this is not enough!!, here is my list of services:
