Just to confirm - the "Wise" logo used at the moment is all in lowercase script - the new one should be "WiSE". 

Assume you want to stick to red on black, as you mention using the current logo as a "base foundation" - please clarify what you mean?

What's the deal with the owl icon - why would you wan't to incorporate it into to something new (it's a hard fit and too busy imho - especially if the new design is modern/contemporary.
