Resumen de Diseño de Logo

I need a logo that will be used in advertising the public side of my scientific and volunteer work on birds. I live in the Pacific Northwest; although I'm not a hippy per se, I do have a pony tail. That, along with narrow-framed glasses, triangular soul patch, and mustache, give me a unique look. I'd like to capitalize on that in the logo. I've attached a sketch of what I am thinking of. I would like to capture the sense that I have a wise-ass type of sense of humor by manipulating the eyebrow expressions (or other manipulations you might find interesting and visually expressive). Also, my writing will be about birds and birdwatching, conservation biology, etc. So, if you can find a creative way to indicate birds are involved, such as placement of a feather (perhaps it could be color while everything else is black and negative space) or small bird. I'd like to use this on my web page, too, so going too small on a bird may not work. I look forward to your ideas. Overall, the final design should communicate someone who looks distinctive, intelligent, yet curious and approachable. My audience will generally be well-educated, bright people who enjoy nature and the outdoors, and love birds, in particular.
