Hi, I think it's the older version we use at the moment. We are looking to get the website revamped since quite a while and would prefer dreamweaver as back end. I always had trouble updating and maintaining the website with joomla, very hard to upload anything. Once some code was leftover somewhere and it took me a day to work out I couldn't fix it and had to get a tech onto it which cost me even more time and money. Last week the site was completely down for no obvious reason, again needed to get the tech in. So, any other suggestions for CMS?

I am not a coder or designer, so I don't know. As said before, I need a backend that's easy to use. preferably something else than Joomla if there is anything else out there that is better.

There are two main options that you can chose from, Drupal and Wordpress, that will do the job easily.
I know because I have setup a few online schools with these systems.

Its probably too late for me to bid on this, but if you research it a bit you'll see they're both award winning CMS.

If you use Joomla, stick to it. There is Drupal and there is Wordpress and there are a whole bunch of CMSes out there but the thing is that if you migrate from one CMS to another, you'll
a. have another whole new learning curve and
b. Have the same problems at a later stagewith any other CMS i.e. some mess with the code, server issues, etc.
The point I'm trying to make here is 'Better a known enemy than an unknown one' and a stable Joomla! site should more than suffice everything that you require.

Also, Dreamweaver is not a 'Backend'. It's a software to design HTML sites. If you want to have Dreamweaver as a method for designing HTML based sites, you would have to know coding and there is a very steep learning curve for Dreamweaver. However, If you still want that, then you should probably ask for HTML templates and we designers can give that.

My advice, stick with Joomla.
