Resumen de Diseño de Logo

We are a new western-Canadian startup oilfield services company. The company name is Citadel Drilling Ltd. We are/will be engaged in providing contract petroleum drilling services for oil and gas producers throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.

We are looking for a corporate logo which will be the start of our coporate branding process, out of it we hope to find a creative person/firm who will also be able to help with some of the more creative aspects of our corporate marketing (other graphics and letterhead, web-design, and creative electronic marketing).

We chose the name "Citadel" because just as a citadel would be the focal point of a city or a castel, the drilling rig that our Company provides will be the focal point of the customers reveneu producing activity on the wellsite. We want to be seen as a beacon/focal point for our customers.

We are looking for professional and clean looking ideas that will be memorable to our customers. The logo will be a part of our future website, be located on all our Company vehicles and equipment and be prominent on all our employees uniforms/hats etc.

As we are a new Company the name will be important to let people known who we are, (won't be able to tell by picture alone) but we also want a graphic that will create an impression as well, and ultimately be able to stand on its own.

Ideas which have been discussed so far are:

-we are situated/and operate on the foothills of the Canadian Rocky mountains, so incorporating that geographic/clean presence might be a nice-to have, would also portray a "green" aspect

- a drilling rig and a castle turret (archer's) have some similarities; maybe have a castle turret/rig emerging from walls of a castle, or the mountains

- Drilling rigs are based on an "A" frame design, A is the middle letter in "CitAdel" so maybe an oil well/turret/citadel emerging from the middle of the letters

- Maybe a shield with a turret/rig emerging from it with just the company initials "C/D" and name underneath

Anyways we are not beholden to these ideas, looking for some creative individuals to team up with us with this very important first step. Will defintely pass on the letterhead/business card design work to whomever is successful in creating a logo which we chose to use, and definetly will be more work depending on the indivduals capabilities/interest.
