Resumen de Diseño Web

We need a new home page design for our e-commerce site AlpacaDirect.com.
Our team will create the HTML/CSS using the Bootstrap framework. We just need the final PSD and slices. Our brand/logo will remain however our focus has shifted to two key product categories. 1: Yarn 2: Socks. We also sell products in the other categories but these will not be the focus and jewelry will likely go away.

Our socks and yarn are focused on "Affordable Luxury" We carry over 2000 yarns (Huge Selection) and have the largest selection on the internet for Alpaca Socks.

Our buyers are very different. Most yarn buyers are women 25-55 who are very tactile. They want to feel the yarn so this somehow needs to come through. Clean and Warm, Affordable Luxury.

Our sock buyers buy premium socks ($15-20/pair) are split male/female and have little interest in Yarn or Knitting. I realize we should likely have 2 different sites but we've spent 7 years building the brand and have loyalty from both markets and are not getting x-sell. Especially knitters who buy our socks and stuffed bears, etc for gifts.


We'll be moving toward a new responsive design based on the Bootstrap framework under the hood.

  Can use warm colors to appeal more to women.
  Must support a responsive design (bootstrap)

• Site should resonate with Knitters but not alienate users who just come to shop for Socks, Stuffed Bears, Sweaters, etc.
  Clean, simple design, but with warmth and upscale feeling.
  Yarn sites: yarn.com, knitpicks.com
  Sock/Apparel Sites: amazingsocks.com, feeturesbrand.com, garnethill.com, gap.com
  
  I've added some initial comps that tested OK but early feedback was it was too plain and lacked emotional appeal.
