CPS Lectures is a Bay Area salon created by Kelly Close and her husband, John Close. The series honors the memory of Cyril Patrick Shaughnessy, Jr., Kelly’s father, who died in late 2002. CPS loved meaty discussion and took any opportunity he could to learn. These gatherings since his passing have offered friends and neighbors opportunities to learn and gather, and provide a forum where highly regarded entrepreneurs, professors, authors, stay at home parents, those who work with their hands, friends, and other members of the community come, speak, and take part in lively discussion. With over 75 speakers having attended, CPS Lectures "sell out" in days or even hours.
