Non-Profit Needs a Fresh, Innovative Logo Design

UPDATE**I am happy with some of the results thus far, but I have yet to find something really powerful, attractive, and innovative. I am not just looking for text formatted in a nice way; I really would like an aesthetic logo that people fall in love with when they see. I thought of the pictorial combination logos on Design Crowd's homepage were excellent.

I have recently created a non-profit organization called 'The Deblinger Foundation'. (my last name is pronounced Deb-Lynn-Jer). I am 23 years old, and my father and mother have already passed away from diabetes and cancer, respectively. I founded this non-profit in their honor. While I am still developing its platform, I want this nonprofit to reach and support a broad spectrum of causes through personal donations, collections, local charity events, school drives, etc. This non-profit has already been registered in Florida, and I am now seeking a logo (and soon after a website).
