IT Training Logo

I need a logo for my one-man IT training company. My customers are mid-sized webagencies and freelancers. I teach them how to build extensions for the CMS TYPO3.

My target group knows, what I am doing, so this does not have to be part of the logo. It's more important for the logo to be recognized easily. They also know, I am working alone, so the logo does not have to be too enterprise. Should be interesting to technical versed people though, so nothing too playful. Web2.0 effecty like embossed might work.
The logo will mostly be used in a loose manner, like on sponsored t-shirts (small, like on the arm), posters or presentations, so it has to be identified quickly.

An idead I had (you don't have to go down that road) is to re-use an icon well known from the TYPO3 backend [1]. It's from the famfamfam icon set and I'd use the "brick_edit" one with the pencil.
