Social and Cultural multinational nonprofit needs logo design

Esto es lo que Ecuatorianos en San Diego buscaba en su logo design

The group of Ecuadorians living in San Diego have created a Non Profit that will be working alongside people from and related to Ecuador in Southern California. The logo should encompass a mix between Ecuador and San Diego, and be dynamic and interesting. The group's name is "Ecuatorianos en San Diego"

EDIT (3/12) - I just uploaded our old logo. We got this for free but the intention is to upgrade it. Please use it as a reference on something to improve on, not as something to stay within. WE like the fact that the logo references both Ecuador and San Diego, we don't like the color gradient, we want a more stylized logo.

I also added a screenshot of how the Ecuadorian goverment image looks if you search for their "LOGOS". We're trying to avoid being associated with the government. I understand main color scheme has to be the same because of the ecuadorian flag, but branding should be different.
