NLTBR logo redesign, Looking to Modernize current logo

Esto es lo que NLTBR or North Lake Tahoe Boat Rental buscaba en su logo design

I would like to modernize my logo. I have used this logo for 6-7 years so I would like it to be an evolution of the design. People are a bit confused about what it is currently. It is a wave on the bottom and the top is a boat wake separating (also resembles the V-shape of a boat).
