poster design for a sales competition

we are requiring a series of posters for sales competitions. The posters should reflect that it is a race and there is a winner, so the poster imagery will motivate the sales team to sell more,
the posters will require blank fields for names of the contestants and space for progressive scores/tally
suggestions: racetrack ie horse/car/track and field etc.or a graph or anything that has a start and finish
eg if it is a race maybe stands around the border of the track.
the blank fields will accomodate 10-12 contestants and as such will need their own lanes that can be filled in as they progress over the sales competition period,another idea is perhaps at the bottom of the poster you could have a series of cutouts eg car race theme colour coded race cars that once cut out could be blue tacked to the poster to create a 2D image and competition position around the track./
