Rib cage tattoo for hubby. True North compass with...

I recently married the love of my life and he has my name tattooed in cursive on his rib cage. (Pic below) We've been trying to think of what to add to it. We have both been married before and we got it right this time. I'd like to surprise him with a design idea. Something that themes of redirection, resilience, fate and clarity.
I'm thinking of elements and not sure how to tie them together... My ideas are....

A true north compass to symbolize guidance, direction and finding his way home where I am his true north. Perhaps even include a north star somewhere? Attached to my name? Having the tattoo stretch down his side sounds nice as well.

Perhaps a red thread incorporated somewhere to symbolize fate.

I'm unsure of how/where my name fits in, so I also need your help in the design with that.
