Logo for my personal blog

I am using the Balance theme on wordpress using the Genesis framework. The website is:

www.cindywords.com

I would like a custom designed logo to go on top of my blog. I'm not sure if it's do-able with restrictions to the theme, but I'd really like to make it happen. If I can somehow incorporate either my signature picture (attached) or a graphic logo with my name Cindy Brandt, or CB, or a banner that distinguishes my website as professional and eye catching, that would be awesome.

Another idea would be like this website: http://sarahbessey.com where the blogger has her name in an interesting font.
