Resumen de Diseño de Logo

Create a logo for a new community news website called Planet Trenton, that will be used on at planettrenton.com and social media.

This logo can be a pictoral mark, an abstract mark, a letter mark, or web 2.0 style. Retro might be great for this logo (think the Daily Planet, superman, etc.)

I am launching a new community news website for the city of Trenton, NJ. The site will cover politics, crime, the usual news stuff, but with an emphasis on positive things happening in the city and the arts. I will make heavy use of social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Trenton is an urban area/metropolis and the state capitol is located here.

Two icons people know Trenton for are the statehouse dome and the Trenton Makes bridge. Trenton used to be a major industrial city known for producing wire and pottery. Trenton was also a major site of the Revolutionary War. We still have colonial homes and reenactments. Washington crossed the river in Trenton.

One idea might be to incorporate the Trenton Makes The World Takes bridge font into the design.

I've attached a few retro images I like that could be riffed on somehow, just as suggestions.

• Planet Trenton will be a nonprofit news website. Anything that signals knowledge and authority, but still with a touch of playfulness. Could have a planet motif or be retro, could harken back to Daily Planet, but not necessary. Could have elements of the city in it like reference to Trenton Makes bridge or capital dome, but also not necessary. Trenton was an industrial city where people made steel wire and pottery. Now it is has an artsy edge. My site will cover the arts scene in addition to city government, politics, crime, etc.

• No globes with landmass representing Trenton or state or area. They look too much live travel websites. Not too complex and detailed. Should not look like a corporation logo. Should look good on mobile.
