We need a design for a new Roasted coffee company. We are based in Rwanda. We purchase and grow our green beans here in Rwanda. We roast our own high quality coffee and are looking to package roasted coffee for both local and international markets and therefor are now looking for a logo.
We initially wanted to use the name Sacks Coffee and go for kraft packaging with an environmentally .
We are still flexible on the option of using Sacks Coffee.
The concept three sisters coffee comes from the African custom where
cousins are referred to as sisters and brothers. We in Rwanda, share our
shores of Lake Kivu with Burundi and D R Congo. It is very common for our
Rwandese family to have sisters or brothers residing in the neighbouring
countries. It is our intension to source our green beans from these three
countries - Rwanda, Burundi and the D R Congo. Hence, the three sister
concept. In a family, sisters can be living in three different countries.
The black, rich soil of these three countries was once one before
colonialism divided them up. Then like sisters from one mother they were
split up each developing their own unique qualities. Today the coffee
beans from each of these origins are unique in their aromas and flavour.
TARGET MARKET
Our strategy is to supply the fast growing micro roasting and home roasting
industry with high quality, hand sorted, single origin, fair trade green
beans. It is our intension to reduce the packaging from the normal 60 kg
bags to the 15 kg branded apple boxes. These boxes can be easily
palletised and shipped by air.
We also wish to enter the roasted coffee market by creating a high end
coffee brand which will be sold as a Rwandese coffee, both locally to
promote Rwanda and internationally. We intend to create a high quality
coffee gift pack for the tourist market here in Rwanda.
STYLE
The style of packaging we were looking at was one similar to the brand
"jacu" making use of kraft [brown]paper. We then thought about using
three woman carrying baskets of red coffee cherries, as per the photos we
attached. We thought the woman could sketched in fine black lines and the
basket and cherries could be in bright full colour. Perhaps even the
blanket of one of the babies being carried could be in colour as per the
painting attached.
