"Ideally a designer who's interested in this project loves Jesus" sure sounds like religious discrimination.

Actually, as an artist with a background in organizational development, I know how valuable it can be that someone who''s doing a design for you as important as a logo is coming from a similar perspective and understands what you value.  We''re not looking at a brochure; logos done right are very personalized, targeted, encompassing who the organization is. We''ll see! Just trying design crowd out.  Plus we''re only talking ideally, or ideally wants to try to understand WHO we are. There''s a lot of cliché church design action going on in the world.
